Santo Domingo.-The average age of the nine people who lost their lives as a result of traffic accidents while driving a motorcycle is 36 years.

This data is contained in bulletin number two of the second phase of the Christmas Operation “Conscience for Life”, where the director of the Emergency Operations Center (COE), Major General ® ERD Juan Manuel Méndez García, detailed that they offered a total of ten thousand assistance provided to the public, of which 647 were medical assistance and the remaining road assistance.

He highlighted that all the deaths were caused by motorcycles and were certified by the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif).
Continuing with the information, he stated that about 145 people intoxicated by alcohol were treated; Of these poisonings, 29 turned out to be minors between the ages of 12 and 17.
19 people were also treated for food poisoning. The provinces that have reported the most cases: Puerto Plata, La Altagracia, Peravia, San Cristóbal, Greater Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macorís.

The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant) has carried out 5,522 visual vehicle technical inspection processes on interurban public passenger transportation units in 59 terminals nationwide.
Within this operation, the replacement and/or repair of 624 tires, 1,151 lights, 627 broken or missing windows and 884 missing mirrors and 131 missing glass wipers were ordered.
