SLP, Mexico.- The documentary The night will not be eternalabout the fight for freedom in Cuba started by opposition leader Oswaldo Payá, premieres this Tuesday, November 19 on the platform of streaming HBO Max.
Directed by filmmaker Nanfu Wang, the audiovisual follows the activism of Rosa María Payá, daughter of the creator of the Christian Liberation Movement.
Emphasizing Rosa María Payá’s tireless fight for justice and defense of the cause of Cuban freedom, the documentary “shows the alternative to the dictatorship that we Cubans have built,” based on the path traced by Oswaldo Payá and other fighters.
“It is a journey that we continue today through Cuba Decide and the common forum of civil society organizations and independent opposition groups united by the Agreement for Democracy,” wrote the leader of Cuba Decide in a publication on Instagram.

Oswaldo Payá Sardiñas died under unclear circumstances on July 22, 2012. The accident – presumably an accident – occurred in Bayamo, while Payá and Harold Cepero were traveling with the Spanish politician Ángel Carromero and the Swede Aron Modig.
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) blamed the Cuban regime for the death of the leader and established that “the Cuban State violated the rights to life, honor and freedom of expression of both people.”
