MIAMI, United States. — The opposition movement El Nuevo Directorio launched a new graffiti this Thursday, coinciding with the 63rd birthday of the designated president Miguel Díaz-Canel.
The usual message of “No to the PCC” was embodied on the wall of the ground floor of Humboldt 7, in the Havana municipality of Plaza de la Revolución, where the so-called Humboldt Massacre occurred on April 20, 1957, the date on that several of the survivors of the attack on the Presidential Palace, which occurred on March 13 of that same year, were executed by the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship.
The New Directorate indicated on social networks that “today’s action” was possible despite the heavy rains.
“Good morning, Cuban men and women. From early in the morning, under a hellish downpour, fighting against the Dictatorship. Nothing could prevent today’s action because of the meaning it has for our movement, and for the history of the people of Cuba,” the group said on Twitter.

According to El Nuevo Directorio, the graffiti was a tribute to the Martyrs of the Humboldt 7 Massacre.
“To the Martyrs of the Humboldt 7 Massacre, the predecessors of the Student Directory, our tribute as best we can honor them; with an action against the Castro dictatorship”, added the group.
Graffiti against the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) by El Nuevo Directorio have become frequent in recent weeks. The most recent occurred on Monday, April 17, International Day of the Political Prisonerand was embodied on the exterior walls of the Juan Abrantes university stadium, in Havana.
On that occasion, the “No to the PCC” message was erased hours later with black paint.
The Nuevo Directorio also won the graffiti on March 20, 2023 on the facade of the Faculty of Physics of the University of Havana, which contained the phrase “Down with the dictatorship!”, and the one on March 23 in front of the University of Havana with the message “No to the PCC”.
