The goalkeeper Iago Herrerín, former player of Athletic Club of Bilbao, was announced this Wednesday as the new goalkeeper of the Deportivo Pastoa team from the Colombian First Division. “Ongi etorri Iago, orain Urkuninaren part zara. Welcome Iago, now you are part of Urkunina,” said the Colombian club in a message published on its social networks.
The Volcánico team, as Herrerín’s new club is known, published a video on their social networks with the best saves of their new goalkeeper. “Hello Volcánicos, I’m here,” said the goalkeeper in the audiovisual piece.
Herrerín, 37 years old, will have his first experience in South America after having played last year for Olympic Charleroi, in the Belgian second division. In his career, the goalkeeper also made saves for Sestao River, Valencia, Leganés, Numancia, Atlético de Madrid B, Bilbao Athletic and Barakaldo in Spain; in the Saudi Al-Raed, and in the AEK Larnaca of Cyprus.

He spent eight seasons at Athletic Club between 2013 and 2021, in which he played 119 games and conceded 135 goals. With the Basque club he lifted the Spanish Super Cup titles in 2015 and 2021. Pasto, for its part, debuted on Sunday in the Colombian league with a 1-0 victory over Deportivo Independiente Medellín with a penalty goal from winger Andrey Estupiñán.
