In one of the increasingly common press conferences offered by Gabriela Cerruti, the presidential spokeswoman received a series of questions this Thursday from journalists from different traditional media that called the attention of social network users and made the videos with the exchange.
The crossing that heated up the networks focused on observations of the international tour of President Alberto Fernández to Russia and China, but which actually had a preview that is not the point that went viral the most in the conference and that focused on the round trip return between Cerruti and the journalist from La Nación, Cecilia Devanna, for the cover of that morning paper that stated that there would be “discomfort and concern in the US government due to the criticism of the President.”

A headline based on a supposed “off” by some US State Department official who would not have liked Fernandez’s statements in Russia. Cerruti clarified that he did not respond to rumors. “So far we have not heard any position from the United States government that has said that this caused discomfort; only rumors were heard and seen. If the State Department wants to express itself, it does so, and we will find out,” he said.
Emphasis was also placed on the viral video, among other observations, the moment in which the journalist Silvia Mercado asks him about the “excessive praise” to the leaders of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping: “If he met with the presidents and it seemed very nice to him, it is part of diplomacy,” said the spokeswoman, adding: “It is time for some media outlets to stop stirring up ghosts as if we were part of the Cold War when in reality we are talking about globalization and of a world that, increasingly, seeks interrelationships to enjoy a world that is a little more just and equitable”.
And he closes the video with another unusual question that confused not only the official:
Journalist: “If as a result of these gestures that he had with communism (…) the possibility of reviewing, for example, a new political system in Argentina is being put on the table…”
Be quiet
Cerruti: “I don’t know what to answer you… you are asking me if Argentina is going to become communist because the president traveled to China…”.
