The Directorate of Captaincies and Coast Guards of Peru (Dicapi), an entity of the Navy, reported that in the last 24 hours a new oil spill was reported, this time in the PN-14 Platform of the Savia company, located in Cabo White, province of Talara (Piura). Subsequently, the company moved special boats to the area and deployed absorbent barriers in the affected perimeter, managing to control the spill and proceeding to clean the impacted area.

For its part, the Peruvian Navy, through the Port Authority of Talara, became aware of the incident and arrived at the scene together with the Petroperú company and vessels in the area, in order to join the activation of the local contingency plan of the aforementioned company.

The Port Authority of Talara will continue to be vigilant, while the company Savia announced that it will maintain a team of divers and a fence of oleophilic barriers in the area of the PN14 platform.
