The National Theater School revealed the critical economic state in which she is located and called on the authorities to meet her demands. For its part, from the Municipal Government admitted that Bs 500,000 are still owed of efforts 2023 and 2024, but that will be honored little by little.
Through a statement, Marcos Malavia, general director of the Theater School IIt was not necessary that the institution is going through a critical situation that puts the continuity of its academic activities and its valuable forming mission.
“Unfortunately, the lack of economic resources seriously threatens our sustainability. Despite multiple efforts, letters and campaigns, we have not achieved an effective response by the responsible authorities. In particular, a pending debt of Bs 500,000 by the municipal government, corresponding to the efforts 2023 and 2024, has deepened this crisis,” he highlights in the statement.
That is why they made an urgent and direct call to:
1.- Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, to assume its responsibility with culture and artistic education.
2.- To the Ministries of Cultures and Education, to which they intervene urgently and concretely to guarantee the continuity of this institution.
3.- To private companies and the business sector, to join as strategic allies of a project that has demonstrated impact, commitment and results in the country’s cultural development.

For its part, the Municipal Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Sarita Mansilla confirmed that the municipal government owes Bs 500,000; Bs 350,000 for the 2024 and Bs 150,000 management by 2023.
“Until now more than half of 2024 has been paid so far; We hope that until May, the rest will be paid. But payments are leaving, “said the secretary.
