On the afternoon of this Wednesday, a shirt from the Uruguayan national team was shipped in the rainbow container.
The act took place from 6:00 p.m. and was attended by the main authorities of the Cuenca del Plata-Katonien Natie Terminal. Representatives of the Ministry of Social Development (MideS) and the Maersk shipping company were also present.
The event took place in the context of the first arrival at the port of Montevideo of the rainbow container, which travels the world with the aim of “giving a comprehensive message of support for diversity, equity and inclusion.” For this reason, the act of the T-shirt is loaded with “strong social content”.
The shipment of the national team garment was carried out by a group of boys and girls representing the Old City baby soccer club, Alas Rojas River. The shirt is signed by all the mixed categories of the club in the rainbow container.
The Maersk shipping container is touring the southeast coast of South America as part of its global initiative to raise awareness about the importance of supporting, respecting and valuing differences, regardless of gender, gender expression, age, ethnicity, orientation sexuality, religion or people with disabilities.
