Manfredo Bravo, spokesman for the Interinstitutional Committee in Santa Cruz, confirmed that the National Committee for the Promotion of the 2023 Census was constituted, with representatives of the nine departments of the country, in addition to the National Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade).

“This institution aims to articulate a series of peaceful actions, mobilizations, in demand and support for the Inter-institutional Committee of Santa Cruz, since it is a demand that will benefit the entire country,” said Bravo, while noting that I know will ask the president (Luis Arce) to avoid confrontation, since it is requested to open the doors of dialogue to listen to Santa Cruz technicians about the viability of the census activity in 2023.

Likewise, through a statement this new institution summoned the central government to, within the next 48 hours, remove the official shock groups from the department of Santa Cruz that have been moved with the purpose of violently attacking the citizen mobilization for the 2023 census,”

Moreover, it warns that “if not, we warn the central government that we will assume radical pressure measures throughout the national territory. We hold President Arce responsible for all the consequences and has already had the violence unleashed in the present conflict”.

Bravo revealed that the meeting was held through different technological means, due to the indefinite strike, but that all signatories committed to the same goal.

The act of Constitution of the National Committee for the Promotion of the 2023 Census is signed by: Oscar Serrate Ayoroa, advisor to the Pando Civic Committee; Prisila Dantes Escalante, Departmental Coordinator of Transparency and Census Control; Apolinar Rivera, president of the Cochabamba Civic Committee; Adolfo Camacho, president of the Civic Committee of Oruro; Roxana Graz, president of the Civic Committee of Potosí; German Gutierrez Gantier, of the Chuquisaca Driving Committee; Milena Reque, from the Interinstitutional Committee for the La Paz Census; Roberto Marquez of
Mobilization Committee of the Tarij Civic Committeea; Manfredo Bravo Chávez, Committee spokesman Interinstitutional for the 2023 Santa Cruz Census and Julio Alvarado, from National Count.

“The fight for the 2023 census has given rise to the emergence of Committees for the Promotion of the 2023 Census in different departments of the country. These committees, to date, have established the departmental agenda for the defense of the isolated claim, but in the face of the Government’s violent onslaught against this legitimate claim, it is necessary to unify efforts and unite in a common front,” reads part of the document.

It also adds, “all the departments unite in a single demand: carrying out the census in 2023, with transparency guaranteed by unrestricted citizen observation, and with a legal guarantee that its results will be the indispensable and irreplaceable basis of the electoral roll.
