The National Assembly continues to consult the Law against discrimination

The Bill on Freedom of Religion and Cults, which is being carried out by the National Assembly (AN), seeks to establish a system of recognition and equality of the different cults present in the country, the deputy Asia Villegas (PSUV/Nacional) reported this Wednesday.

The parliamentarian, who is the president of the Permanent Commission for Families, Freedom of Religion and Cults, highlighted that the instance has held meetings, at work tables, with representatives and spokespersons of religious sectors, in order to receive their contributions and add them to the content of the draft legal instrument, refers to a press release from the National Assembly on its website.

In this regard, the president of the Subcommittee on Cults, deputy Oswaldo Vera (PSUV/Vargas), explained that the drafting of the bill seeks to find mechanisms to maintain tranquility, equity, equality and peace for all Venezuelans.

On the other hand, during its regular meeting, the commission granted speaking rights to spokespersons for the Religious Ministerial Table, who specified that, under the respect of the legal system, they will contribute ideas for the construction of a law that does not discriminate.
