The mystery surrounds the situation of the Turkish patanas in Cuba

Nothing is known about the location of the Turkish floating plant erin sultan after his departure, Last Tuesday, from the port of Havana bound for Santiago de Cuba, according to the authorities. There is also no information on specialized websites about the situation of the Irem Sultan, whose departure from the capital of the East has been officially announced.

The mystery about the movements of these floating plants is surprising, although it is suspected that the Erin Sultan, not registered in the navigation search engines, is being towed by the Karadeniz One, that it does appear this Thursday off the coast of Holguín.

This Thursday, 14ymedio found that there are two Karadeniz Powership ships remaining in the port of Havana: the gigantic central suheyla sultan and a tugboat, much smaller.

’14ymedio’ confirmed that there are two Karadeniz Powerships remaining in the port of Havana: the gigantic Suheyla Sultan plant and a much smaller tugboat

The Suheyla Sultan, which has a generating capacity of 240 megawatts (MW) and was the last of the eight patanas sent by Türkiye Upon arriving on the island, it was observed in operation, near the Ñico López refinery, apparently not connected to the Tallapiedra thermoelectric plant when this newspaper went to find out its situation. Haven’t they plugged it in because it’s gone too? And if so, why are they leaving? For lack of payment? They are questions without answers, but they are urgent, in the middle of critical lack of fuel and rising temperatures.

The Unión Eléctrica de Cuba once again forecast an energy deficit this Thursday through its social networks. Specifically, for the peak hour they estimate an availability of 2,260 MW and a maximum demand of 2,800 MW, that is, a lack of 540 MW. The affectation at that time, they indicate, will be 610 MW.

Some neighborhoods in the capital are already beginning to experience annoying blackouts. For example, Luyanó, where from one to three in the morning they cut off the electricity up to three times. On Belascoaín street, in Centro Habana, this Wednesday there were power cuts in broad daylight, from nine in the morning until afternoon.
