Díaz Infante’s proposal is not minor in an association with more than 20 years of history, which recently experienced its most complex crisis: the resignation of a large part of its board of directors, including its president, Philippe Boulangerand the departure of companies such as Apple and Mercado Libre from among its affiliates.
“The operation of the association continues. We have a full council, we are united. What extraordinary situations do is unite and right now we are working on this. We are working with Huawei, for example, which is joining the council. OCC returns and Amazon Web Services is super interested in all the issues that are going on,” he said. Díaz Infante was elected as president of the AIMX for the period 2023. At a particularly complex time for the industry and the digital economy, he will head an organization that brings together different companies in the digital economy, many of which are already experiencing the effects of the fight against inflation and the contraction of prices. markets.
—What are your objectives as president of the association?
—I want to implement an integrity policy theme. After these situations that we have gone through, I am convinced that it is necessary to review the roles and functions of those of us who are part of the council and adapt our statutes, to see how we can function better. I want the association to evolve.
Díaz Infante, founder of the digital advertising and audiovisual production agency Diggitalera, wants the association to work with the Government to “democratize Internet access” and “strengthen the part of the digital economy, of companies of all shapes and sizes both small and large.”
“In the part of transparency and the marketing industry, I want to continue with the work on the laws and regulations that are being done right now on these advertising issues. It’s something I’ve been doing for two years now. I also want to strengthen the point of studies and research”, said Díaz Infante. “The association has been a reference framework for important data in the Internet industry and obviously we need to strengthen this aspect together with our research committee, we have to become stronger there.”
—We see staff cuts from technology, e-commerce, and digital advertising companies, and in some countries a recession is on the horizon. What will be the participation of the association to support the digital economy in Mexico?
“First, understand. Make use of the companies that are part of the association and open a dialogue to understand what is happening. After we understand the problem, start working together in whatever way we can help them and bring them closer to the authorities. Historically, the association has been that bridge to dialogue with the authorities of our country.
