The Municipality of Montevideo annulled the contract with Ana Inés Martínez

The president of the Frente Amplio, Fernando Pereira, confirmed Wednesday that the Municipality of Montevideo decided to leave the contract with the communicator Ana Inés Martínez. The decision, taken after a “reevaluation of the situation” by Mayor Mauricio Zunino, ends Martínez’s hiring as a communication advisor.

Martínez’s hiring had generated controversy both inside and outside the Frente Amplio, unleashing criticism for the decision. One of the main detractors was the leader Eduardo Brenta, who expressed in his X account: “I do not share this resolution and I hope it is revealed.” On the other hand, Mario Bergara, candidate of the Broad Front to the Municipality of Montevideo, was surprised by the measure, highlighting that it was a delicate moment, with the intention facing a complicated financial situation a few months after the change of period.

Ana Inés Martínez’s contract was officially ceased in a resolution signed on Tuesday, which confirmed the end of the labor bond after the controversies arising.
