The Ministry of Health promotes gender, transparency and integrity policies

The Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, ordered that in all national hospitals Comprehensive Medical Care Services for the Community (SAMIC) the creation of an Institutional Compliance, Integrity and Transparency Unit be promoted to ensure compliance with the regulations of these health centers, while commissioning the implementation of gender policies.

The measure was adopted through the resolution 1417/2022 of the health portfolio, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette.

The rule provides that the new Institutional Compliance, Integrity and Transparency units must be led by a suitable head and with verifiable training in the subject and they will be arranged in direct dependence on each Board of Directors.

The initiative is aligned with the commitment of the health portfolio to “improve transparency and integrity, as well as gender equity in all its central dependencies and agencies”according to a statement.

in article 1the resolution promotes the principle of gender equality as a guiding criterion for the proposal for appointment, both of professionals and of administrative or technical personnel.

Likewise, in line with government policies committed to defending the rights of women and diversities, The implementation of training actions aimed at all the staff of the El Cruce Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner High Complexity Network Hospital and the El Calafate High Complexity Hospital is encouraged.

As for the High Complexity Hospital Cuenca Alta Dr. Néstor Carlos Kirchner, the General Acute Hospital Dr. René Favaloro and the Juan P. Garrahan Pediatric Hospital.

Also Companies that are contracted by health entities will be asked to prove an active policy in relation to the training of their personnel on gender issues and current legislation.

The new guidelines also include the preparation of quarterly reports that must be submitted by the SAMIC Boards of Directors to the Secretariat for Quality in Health and the Undersecretary for Management of Services and Institutes of the national health portfolio.

In turn, the councilors must design the tools to ensure the aforementioned goals, report progress and, among other points, they will have to consider updating the registry of providers of health entities to make transparent the adequacy of the provisions of the resolution.
