The Ministry of Health issued a series of recommendations to people who decide to travel to Brazil before the Increase in cases of acute diarrhea in the southern city of Florianópolisfrom the State of Santa Catarina, which already suffered 1,618 people, in the first two weeks of the year 2023, between residents and tourists.

Among the recommendations issued by the health portfolio are:
• regularly wash your hands with soap and water;
• use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
• use safe water (filtered, treated or boiled);
• avoid drinking tap water as in some places it may not be safe to drink;
• preparing food and drinks, making ice, cooking, and brushing teeth with treated water
• Do not consume drinks with ice that you do not know how it was made.
In addition it is recommended avoid drinking directly from cans or bottle tops, since their surfaces may be contaminated. For exactly the same reason it is recommended to clean and dry before drinking or serving in a glass; avoid eating food past its expiration date and avoid eating food in poor condition, with an altered smell, color or flavor.
The health portfolio also recommended avoiding the consumption of packaged food if the same ones they will find swollen or crushed and the consumption of food in street stalls.
Along the same lines, they recommended Avoid eating raw or undercooked foods especially eggs, meat, fish and shellfishwhich must be well cooked.
The Ministry of Health also suggested avoid eating saladsespecially those that are composed of vraw vegetables and raw unpeeled fruits.
On vegetable preparationit was indicated that it is necessary to sanitize fruits, vegetables and vegetables by diluting a tablespoon of bleach in a liter of water for 15 minutes, and then washing with running water to remove residues.
After preparing food, people should wash and disinfect surfaces and utensils used.
In addition, they advised avoid bringing perishable food from the trip without adequate refrigeration.
