At a press conference in Santa Cruz, the Minister of Education, Édgar Pary, announced that during the next week the modalities for the return to classes will be announced, on August 1, but “obviously discounting the distance”. This will apply nationwide.
Pary presumes that this return to the classroom would be face-to-face and semi-face-to-faceand asked the parents to prepare themselves, in coordination with the directors and teachers of the educational centers.
He made an appeal, especially with regard to vaccination, since the immunization rates remain low in all departments. “We are not passing even 50% of vaccination, the issue is not only to recommend and ask that the vacation be extended in this fifth wave, parents must go to health centers,” she insisted.
Holidays were normally extended when temperatures dropped, but this time, according to Pary, the main reason is the high contagion of the fifth wave.
On the other hand, he reported that he held a balance meeting of all departmental directors and deputy directors, to evaluate the first semester of the 2022 administration, which he described as positive. “We finished the first semester in person at 100%, is a very important achievement. For the second semester we foresee other actions”, she said, announcing that a Gender and Generation unit in the Ministryin the year of depatriarchalization, since violence is a concern.
He explained that this unit will coordinate directly with the departmental directorates of education, with the district directorates, parents’ meetings, and educational councils, so that they all work on the issue of violence “because it is a constitutional mandate.”
Pary also reported that this Tuesday 26 will launch a program that strengthens readingto be developed in the educational units, and that will allow to recover and strengthen learning, and improve education.
