The Ministry of Education organized the first meeting of music band instructors, with the aim of strengthening the artistic training of students through music. The event, which brought together 250 school instructors, sought to receive proposals and recommendations to improve access to learning and promote a channel of musical expression for young people.
The Minister of Education, Lucy Molinar, highlighted the importance of the work of the instructors, who, according to her, instill in the students values such as discipline, responsibility, punctuality and love for music. These elements are fundamental for the teaching-learning process and the personal development of the students.
During the meeting, the instructors had the opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss strategies to optimize the musical training of the students. The goal is to adequately prepare the young people to achieve effective performances at events such as national parades.
The event also served to introduce Irving Rodríguez as the new coordinator of music bands, who will assume the position in the National Directorate of Student Affairs. In addition, the student band of the Isabel Herrera Obaldía Professional School gave an outstanding performance, exemplifying the talent and dedication of the young musicians.
School bands, mostly made up of rhythmic percussion instruments such as snare drums, bass drums, cymbals and lyres, follow an oral tradition in their rhythmic patterns, passed down from generation to generation. This gathering ensures that these traditions are kept alive and that students continue to develop their musical skills.
