With the purpose of knowing the interests of adolescents regarding the creation of safe spaces for development, the Ministry of Children and Adolescents (MINNA) carries out a series of workshops to survey needs. The objective is to generate an adaptation plan for these spaces in each location, so that they can adapt to their recreational, artistic, learning, and relaxation requirements, among others.
The first workshop took place in the sports center of the city of Tobatí, an activity carried out in coordination with the Municipality of Tobatí and the CODENI of that town. Subsequently, workshops were held in Yatytay, in the department of Itapúa and Ciudad del Este, in Alto Paraná.
The proposals made by the adolescents will be selected and will be used as a reference to generate or adapt spaces, where they can use their free time in a healthy and protected way.
The safe development spaces will initially be set up in the municipalities of Ciudad del Este, Santa Rosa del Aguaray, Tobatí, Yatayty, Asunción, Lambaré and Mariscal Estigarribia, strengthening the capacities of the municipalities and the actors of the National System for Comprehensive Promotion and Protection. of NNA (SNPPI) to create and maintain protective environments for adolescents and their families, with the aim of preventing violence, exploitation, abuse and neglect.
The initiative is part of the “Boys, girls and adolescents free of violence” project, executed by MINNA with technical support from UNICEF and financing from Itaipu
