During the closure of the V Oil, Gas and Energy Summit, the president of Congress, Roy Barreras, pointed out that in the process of motion of censure against the minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez, will have “the full support of Congress.”

According to Barreras, the minister will not be censured during the process to which she has been summoned, for not having the experience required to assume the position.
“Regardless of opinions, no government that guarantees the country is solid enough to govern well can afford to be censured by a minister in the first 3 months“, he claimed.
During the event, he said that he had other reasons to support the minister in the development of her role. “With the difficulties of the glass ceiling, no woman becomes a doctor of philosophy because she is not capable,” she said.
