The Mi Argentina app was chosen as “the best solution” in Digital Transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean and received the award for Excellence in Digital Government, at the seventh edition of the Ministerial Meeting on Digital Government of the Americas and the Annual Meeting of the Inter-American Network on Digital Government (Red Gealc), which took place in parallel in Lima, revealed this Friday the Casa Rosada.
The awards, which have the support of the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), recognize the best solutions implemented by the governments of the region for citizen-centered public management.
The Mi Argentina app was the winner in a choice among more than 60 solutions from twenty countriesindicated a press release.
After receiving the award, the Secretary for Public Innovation of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Nation, Micaela Sánchez Malcolm, assured that, despite the fact that the application has “several years of implementation in the country”, it was in the last three years that “We have promoted functionalities, added certificates and improved its engineering hand in hand with a very large team that is behind it”.
The sustained work of recent years “It allowed us to reach more than 17 million users of Mi Argentina throughout the country”he highlighted.
The Red Gealc was created in 2003 and is made up of authorities from the digital government agencies of the OAS member countries, with the aim of “promoting horizontal cooperation and supporting digital government policies with the citizen, in particular populations most vulnerable, in the center”.
In particular, it seeks to advance in digital and open governments, in cybersecurity and cross-border digital services, and in promoting economic and social recovery through the use of digital technologies.
During his presentation, Sánchez Malcolm affirmed that “One of our work pillars was to digitize all the processes of the provincial and local governments, and to make procedures transparent and accelerate for citizens” to facilitate their relationship with the State.
In this regard, he emphasized the Distance Procedures platform, and indicated that this digital solution allows remote processing from anywhere in the country, and also highlighted the implementation of Tina, the virtual assistant of the Argentine State, which is part of Mi Argentina, and that “condenses more than 200 procedures, involves more than 25 agencies and is the product of the work of a team made up 100% of women.”
“In Argentina, the national State generates all its government procedures and decisions through digital systems based on digital signatures. There is no act of government that is not carried out through our platforms: it is the largest critical infrastructure in the country”he added.
He emphasized the scope of Federal Program for Digital Public Transformationwhich is advancing in more than 15 provinces and more than 80 municipalities in the country, as well as the interoperability platform that Argentina has, which allows the integration of the different management systems used by the other provinces.
In this framework, he maintained that “a growth of 400% in the procedures since the beginning of our management” was registered.
