Two departure transfers that would be approved to the Ministry of Health (Minsa) were suspended because the no objection or approval by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) was given through screenshots of messages sent via WhatsApp.
The transfers for $4.6 million and $5.95 million were dismissed after the representative Juan Diego Vásquez questioned the fact that his objection was sent in that way that in his opinion was lent to anyone other than the Minister of Economy and Finance Héctor Alexander issued this message.
After questions from Vásquez, the Deputy Director of the Budget alleged that Minister Alexander has been traveling on an official mission since Sunday and that he will return to the country during the weekend and despite this, he requested that documents be sent to him to send the no objection of departure transfers although he left a minister in charge who should be in charge of this type of procedure as established by the constitution.
After heated questioning, the president of the Budget Commission Benicio Robinson decided to suspend the transfers until the MEF minister returns to the country and can issue the no objection in person or in another way via WhatsApp.
