The MEF is denounced for transferring the Coastal Beltway to the Mayor’s Office of Panama for the construction of a Seafood Market

This morning a group of citizens appeared before the Supreme Court of Justice to request that the Third Chamber evaluate the legality of the transfer of three farms from the Urban Linear Park (Cinta Costera) to the Municipality of Panama, so that it can build the new Seafood Market . This transfer was carried out by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF).

According to Giulia De Santics, this project threatens the design of the Linear Park and they consider that the citizen consultation for the transfer occurred irregularly.

De Santics recalled that the Cinta Costera is under the administration of the Ministry of Public Works and the MEF, so the MEF does not have authorization to use it in accordance with the regulations, it does not have authorization to use it and assign that administration to the Municipality of Panama.
