The meeting of the Interinstitutional Committee for the Promotion of the Census began, in the facilities of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University, with the presence of representatives of organizations and institutions from Santa Cruz. The members must agree on what measures they will take, given that they have not had a response from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) regarding the percentage progress on the way to the census, information that will allow setting a date for completion. Santa Cruz argues that it can be carried out in 2023.
Last Friday, the Vice Minister of Autonomies told EL DEBER Radio that the required information would be delivered to the departments between Monday and Tuesday of this week.
A commission traveled to La Paz to visit the INE, this Monday, and request information on the progress of the census; There is still no response to their inquiries, informed the rector and president of the Inter-institutional Committee, Vicente Cuéllar. Also questioned that the national government seeks to delay the census process and not carry it out even in 2024, due to lack of political will.
