The Mayor of the Chubut town of El Hoyo, Pol Huismanmet with authorities and indigenous communities to express their solidarity after the dissemination of a false link between the Mapuche people and the fire in Currumahuida that began last Sunday and is already contained, official sources reported this Wednesday.
Huisman held a meeting this Tuesday afternoon with the Provincial Director of Indigenous Affairs, Raúl Sahiueque, the Area of Original Peoples of the Municipality of El Hoyo and local Mapuche communities.
“The path must always be dialogue and construction,” said the community chief, who He denied the versions that circulated through some media linking the Mapuche people with the start of the igneous sources.
As indicated by the municipality, Sahiueque “thanked the space” and stressed “the importance of continuing to build bridges of dialogue with the Municipal State.”
The fire believed to have been started intentionally and affects the Andean locality “content” is already found and it is estimated that affected some 230 hectares of native and exotic vegetation, grasslands and scrublands.
