The information was confirmed by his son on his Instagram account on Saturday, November 16. «Your legacy is eternal, infinite and universal. “You loved Venezuela like no one else and you kept your promise to give back with infinite gratitude to this blessed land by training thousands of the best musicians from Venezuela who shine throughout the world,” published his son, Gherard Weil.
Of Austrian origin and rooted in Venezuela for almost seven decades, this pianist made jazz his reason for life, a musical genre that, in addition to sharing it with a then distant audience, shared it through teaching.

Venezuela was the country that allowed him his musical education, where he received piano lessons and founded his band, a mix of traditional Venezuelan music with contemporary rhythms.
