The Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) imposed its “roll” this Friday in the Departmental Assembly of Potosí and created a special commission only with its legislators to investigate the contract for the 41 ambulances.

“One week after the case of the 41 ambulances bought by the Government of Potosí broke out, the Departmental Assembly meets today belatedly and decides to form a commission. In similar situations, it has been formed respecting the participation of the majority caucus that is the MAS and the minority, but today they surprise us and impose their roller so that they are only MAS assembly members. This presumes that the acts of corruption detected in the Potosí Governorate will be managed,” he denounced this Friday to Page Seven Digital Assemblywoman Azucena Fuertes.

He explained that the special commission for the control of the contract for the purchase of 41 ambulances for 20.5 million Bolivians, signed between the Government of Potosí and the Estefals Logistics company, will have seven assembly members and all of them are from the MAS.

He advanced that this type of action only makes one presume that nothing will be investigated and that it is only a pure formality, taking into account that the president of the Departmental Assembly of the MAS, Marcial Ayali, already issued a favorable opinion a few days ago, since indicated that there is still no crime, despite the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office filed two criminal complaints against Masista governor Jhonny Mamani and the company Estefals Logistics.

“I regret that the MAS, abusing its roller in the Departmental Assembly —because of the 32 that we are, 24 are from MAS—, a commission has been imposed out of pure formality, because I distrust the result that is going to come out, not even in one week have not spoken, despite the fact that our role is that of inspector. What impartiality can there be in a commission where there are only official members?”, questioned the legislator.

The regulations of the Departmental Assembly establish that the commissions will be made up of both the majority and the minority, but in this case it was decided that they should only be from the MAS.
