The national vice president of the MAS, María Verdeal, questioned, this Monday, October 7, the dialogue promoted by the government of Nicolás Maduro, considering it an “organized act” from one day to the next and without a prior agenda.

In this sense, he clarified that the MAS was not summoned to this meeting and highlighted that in his opinion this dialogue is subject to a unilateral scheme, “where the power and submission of the attendees would prevail.” “Under the terms of the stick and the imposition of a single vision, it is very difficult to think that it will lead to a sincere dialogue for the benefit of the country,” he said.

Verdeal reiterated that the majority of Venezuelans demand respect for the National Constitution; as well as the popular will expressed in the presidential election of last July 28. “Since July 29, the government has been acting under a scheme of repression and imposition and whoever does not comply with it may be accused of anything, from terrorism, fascist or conspirator,” he indicated.

Verdeal expressed solidarity with the mothers who went to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to request an appeal for protection and the figure of habeas corpus in order to achieve the release of their children.

“Asking for transparency and demanding the truth about what happened on July 28 is not a crime. “You cannot have young people detained as exemplary justice.”
