From the former president, Evo Morales to the Vice Minister of Autonomies, Alvaro Ruiz, they see as a victory that Vicente Cuéllar, as representative of the Inter-institutional Committee that Promotes the Census, and Governor Luis Fernando Camacho, hThey have admitted that it is no longer possible to carry out the census query in 2023.

Evo Morales published on his Twitter account that “dAfter four deaths, 33 days of looting, fires, human rights violations and the worst damage to the economy of Santa Cruz and Bolivia, andhe confessed coup leader Luis Fernando Camacho says that the date of the census is not decisive. He was defeated by the will to work of the people of Santa Cruz.”

And he goes on to point out that “its failure shows that the strike and the change in the dates of the census were the product of political calculation. They never think of the humblest, they only look for their interests. We demand that justice immediately prosecute those responsible for having caused such damage to the country.”

These are in clear reference to what the governor indicated about the date of the census activity.

“The people, today, is waiting for a law that gives certainty so that the date determined in parliament is respected and it is not only with decrees that we have already seen that have been breached, ”Camacho said this Wednesday.

The governor assured that the indefinite strike has met 90% of its objective, and that the uncertainty with the date, which was the initial demand, is only “the concho” of all that has been accomplished.

Later and after a meeting held between the civic leader, Rómulo Calvo, the governor and the representative of the Inter-institutional Committee, the latter indicated that “today, unfortunately, we can maintain based on the technical criteria that the census is no longer sustainable so that it can be carried out in 2023”, this is due to the delays that occurred from the Government.

The same criteria was expressed by the second vice president of the Committee for Santa Cruz, who stated that the government party “he stretched the gum as far as he wanted”alluding to the fact that the deadlines were extended until the calendar could no longer be adjusted.

To which the Vice Minister of Autonomies, Alvaro Ruiz, stated that “they lied to their people, they began a 33-day strike to end up accepting that the right thing to do was to carry out the census in 2024. Now Santa Cruz knows who the real traitors are and those who unnecessarily hurt the economy of his people, especially the poorest”.

This Thursday, Santa Cruz enters its day 34 of indefinite unemployment but this time, to the expectation of the approval of a Law of the census.
