In the last hours, the Prosecutor’s Office formalized and Justice accepted the accusation of a 40-year-old man who stabbed and seriously injured to his mother in a violent event that occurred in the city May 18. The authorities arranged for the accused to be formalized at the Vilardebó Hospital due to his lack of responsibility.
The attack occurred on Wednesday night in a house located on Domingo Riestra and Francisco de Ponga streets in the city of 18 de Mayo, Canelones.
The attacker ran to a neighbor’s house to ask her to call the police because “he had just killed” his mother. The subject was insistent that he call soon, before his brothers arrived at the address.
The woman called the authorities and the police arrived at the site, arrested the man and transferred the victim, who is in serious health.
At that time, the Legal Prosecutor’s Office of the 1st Shift of Las Piedras, in charge of Irene Penza, ordered a psychological test to be carried out on the detainee, who has a history of especially aggravated robbery and two especially aggravated robberies, to determine his imputability.
During the formalization of the detainee, carried out this Friday, it was made clear that the expertise carried out on him revealed that the man suffered a psychotic outbreak at the time of the events.
After being charged with the crime of especially aggravated attempted homicide, the man was admitted to the Vilardebó Hospital.
In principle, the hospitalization will be for a period of 180 days.
