Likewise, they undertook to “analyze and, where appropriate, arbitrate the necessary means, in order to agree with those responsible for the payment of mining royalties, the determination and quantification of a “Special Contribution” according to the particularities of each project”, they indicated.
On the occasion, it was also learned that the National Congress was informed about the formation of the Lithium Region, through the corresponding laws passed by the legislatures of Jujuy, Salta and Catamarca.
“The formal constitution of the Lithium Region represents a historical fact“, said the Minister of Economic Development and Production of Jujuy, Exequiel Lello Ivacevich, who said that this progress “opens the possibility of generating common regulations.”

He also said that it will allow, “to build a legal framework that provides security for investment”because “there are many resources to exploit,” said the provincial official.
“This type of policy -he continued- will generate new opportunities for development with the lithium chain, defending, in turn, the natural resources that belong to the provinces”, he indicated and warned that “there are companies that speculate and generate distorting actions of market, harming the provincial tax schemes”.
In his turn, the Mining Minister of Catamarca, Marcelo Murúa, vindicated the decision to “work at the regional level” from the conviction that this “always fortifies” and welcomed the decision of the provinces to “establish a joint position, which is ultimately the central goal of the Lithium Region”.
In this way they considered that the Lithium Region, “has the necessary tools to define and implement the measures that the provinces consider necessary for the exploitation of lithium, a mineral highly required by the world, immersed in a virtuous process of energy transformation and care for the environment”they finally stated.
