The Minister of Labor of the Nation, Claudius Moronihighlighted this Monday that employment levels in Argentina “are above” the rates prior to the pandemic of coronavirus, although he stressed that the national government “would like them to be better”.
“Today employment levels are higher than before the start of the pandemic”, Moroni highlighted during the meeting of the Budget and Treasury Commission of the Senate in which the agreement signed between the Executive Power and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is debated.
The official spoke after the presentations by the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur; and the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán; and highlighted that “Argentina was one of the (countries) that lost the least registered employment in the world during the pandemic.”
Moroni maintained that this was possible thanks to the “ingenious solutions of the national government”, such as assistance to companies, and remarked that “without that we would not have a recovery”.
“In fact, in 2022 more than 200 thousand jobs were created”assured.
The minister also pondered “joint negotiations” that “work wonderfully and are not common in the world”.
“These negotiations allowed the average salary to fall only 0.1% in the pandemic. And, coming out of it, growth was 3.4%”he asserted.
Moroni added that “This government is the one that did these things and the one that comes to suggest that this is the best possible agreement.”
“A labor reform is not part of this government’s dictionary. Neither is a pension reform. We have a recovery scheme that we need to sustain,” emphasized.
