The Bill presented by the Colorado deputy for Soriano, Martín Melazzi, was approved, by which the “National Administration of Volunteer Firefighters” was created.
As a result of several years of study and months of legislative work, the project was approved unanimously in both Chambers.
Finally, a regulation has been established that guarantees firefighting activities throughout the country, providing a regulatory framework for volunteers, complementing and enhancing the joint work with the National Fire Department.
Self-denial, sacrifice, humility and collaborative work are the pillars of this selfless action of women and men who give up their free time and days to help all those who need it in times of urgency or emergency.
Social work also helps young people and not so young people to join a philanthropic organization that will hone their skills. The only limitation is within each member. The only thing required is the desire to actively contribute to the society they are part of.
According to Melazzi: “Today we begin to write history. We begin to travel a path that we predict will be crowned with glory. A path that makes us proud and imposes on us the duty to support the Volunteer Firefighters. Likewise, on the occasion, he thanked his team and especially Dr. Martín Miguez, with whom he worked together on this subject.”
More than a major step towards strengthening the organization and professionalization of the fire service, this law establishes the most important values that a volunteer firefighter must have: dedication, courage, solidarity and commitment.
This national service is a great opportunity to coordinate with the National Fire Department and the different fire departments in the country, providing each citizen with a comprehensive rescue service.
Volunteer firefighters who work selflessly and at the expense of their personal well-being are an embodiment of the values of altruism and courage. Being ready to take risks and help in the most critical situations is an example of colossal responsibility and love for the community.
May this law be an impetus for the training of more volunteer firefighters in support of the National Fire Department and for the renewal of compassion in our society to love and support those who, with generous abandon, passionately strive to protect and serve without reciprocity.
Melazzi concluded by saying: “May this law be a torch that lights the way for the children of tomorrow to serve with nobility and courage.
Congratulations to all the volunteer firefighters and contributors to this very noble cause!”
