The last patient who was in the Covid Hospital, located in the Health City of the Social Security Fund (CSS), was discharged this Friday.

This was confirmed by the executive director of Health Services and Benefits of the CSS, Alex González.

González said that the release of this patient represents “a milestone in the goals we had as a health system.”

The official also highlighted that the Covid Hospital, with its 300 beds, served to greatly support the high demand for patients affected by the new coronavirus.

The CSS has reported that it will not receive any more patients affected by SARS-CoV-2 at that location, starting next Friday, April 15. After that date, patients affected by Covid-19 will be directed to the Arnulfo Arias Madrid Hospital Complex, where a room was adapted for them.

González also recalled that the Covid Hospital is a facility that was originally intended to be part of the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Institute, which will come into service on July 12.
