The last allocation of funds for social programs will be made this week and until September 21, said the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel, who is one of the officials who will continue in office in the next administration. Created in this six-year term, these policies contributed to reducing poverty and to development in the country, she added.
During the presidential conference, Montiel presented the funds allocated to social policy in 2024, which together represent an expenditure of 534,903 million pesos with a beneficiary registry of 14,434,762 people. He highlighted that most of these resources will be channeled to the payment of pensions for senior citizens, a program to which 465 billion pesos will be allocated, which will be distributed among 12,239,962 senior citizens.

The secretary mentioned that the pension program for people with disabilities will have a budget of 27.86 billion pesos this year. She specified that there is a total of 1,480,930 people, of which 26,703 are children, who, in addition to this pension, also receive funding for their therapies.
Montiel also indicated that in the case of the program to support working mothers, which benefits a universe of 269 thousand children, the agency has allocated a budget of 3 thousand 67 million pesos for 2024. He added that for the Sembrando Vida program, 29 thousand 831 million pesos are allocated for the benefit of 433 thousand 890 farmers this year.
Finally, the official stressed that throughout the six-year term, not only the number of beneficiaries has increased in all social programs, but also the funds allocated to social programs.
