The last Friday of August registers 12% positivity in covid tests

On the last Friday of August, it counted 313 new contagions of covid-19, dispersed in 20 municipalities of the department of Santa Cruz, as announced Carlos Hurtado, manager of Epidemiology of the Departmental Health Service (Headquarters).

Santa Cruz de la Sierra maintains the largest number of cases with 265 infections, the rest is distributed in the other 19 municipalities with an average of 1 and 8 cases, thus having a 12% positivity rate.

For this day they are 658 people who won the illness and are considered as recovered and no deaths were reported.

According to the data presented by Headquarters, there are 19 people who are still in intensive care units fighting for their lives and five of them are connected to an artificial respirator.

“Let’s keep going to the vaccination points and let’s keep taking care of ourselves, wearing the chinstrap as one more item of clothing, maintaining social distancing and using alcohol to disinfect our hands,” said the Headquarters epidemiology manager.

The mass vaccination plan continues its course at all enabled points. This Friday 2,591 people received the doses59% with the first dose, 48% with their second dose, and 20% with their third dose.
