The largest number of daily positive cases of coronavirus are concentrated in five departments of the country: Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, La Paz, Tarija and Chuquisaca, where the sick number in the thousands. Yesterday, those regions accumulated 9,074 positive cases out of 10,897 infections registered nationwide.
The Ministry of Health and Sports, in its daily report, reported that for the first time in the fourth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, the department of Cochabamba was the region that reported the most infections with 2,407 positive cases.
Santa Cruz came second with 2,264 new patients; La Paz reported 2,089 cases; Tarija 1,202 and Chuquisaca reported 1,112 infections.

Among the other four departments, Oruro reported the highest number of infections with 892, about to reach a thousand; Potosí had 468 infections; Beni 246 and Pando reported 187 coronavirus infections.
In total, 10,897 positive cases were officially reported yesterday and a cumulative of 785,094 infections since the first wave in 2020, of which 148,574 are active cases.
The national death toll was 62 dead, down from Tuesday, when 86 deaths were reported. The accumulated data on deaths with Covid-19 since the first wave is 20,439.
Vaccines
According to the Ministry of Health, until yesterday, 11,357,778 doses of vaccine against Covid-19 were applied between the first, second and third doses of Sputnik V, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer and Janssen.
Of that figure, 5,562,359 people over 18 years of age received the first dose of the vaccine; 4,013,639 the second; 994,961 received the single dose and 786,819 over 18 years of age and with underlying diseases received the third dose.
