The Superior Court of Justice of Limathrough file No. 01708-2022-0-1801-JR-DC-09, declared inadmissible the petition for habeas corpus presented by Eduardo Pachas Palacios, Pedro Castillo’s lawyeragainst Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations of Congress for an alleged attack “against individual freedom in connection with due process and effective procedural protection.”
Indeed, after reviewing the alleged grievances presented by the legal defender of the head of state, the First Constitutional Chamber of Lima did not accept the request in favor of Pedro Castillo, who testified last Friday before the Public Ministry about the investigation against him in the Puente Tarata III case.

The Lima Court of Justice determined that the Accusations Subcommittee acts “within the framework of political control functions established in the Constitution”.
Likewise, the institution considered that in the constitutional complaint against Castillo Terrones “there would be no certain and imminent threat of infringement of the constitutional rights to due processto the principle of legality, nor the right to defense related to the right to individual liberty”.
It is worth mentioning that on April 28, the Ninth Constitutional Court of Lima had already rejected an appeal for peter castle. However, in the same resolution his appeal was also admitted.

Previously, the Accusations Subcommittee declared admissible the constitutional complaint against the president for the alleged crime of treason.
This complaint is due to the interview that the professor from Cajamarca had with the journalist Fernando del Rincón for CNN en Español, where he mentioned being in favor of granting access to the sea to Bolivia and added that he would “consult the people” on the subject.
