He Power of attorneythrough the Supreme Court of Preparatory Investigation, has ordered the lifting of the secrecy of communications of the former prime minister Alberto Otárola Peñaranda and others involved in an investigation into alleged collusion against the State. The resolution, issued on July 24, 2024, will allow access to historical data on calls, messages and locations of those under investigation, during the period from January 1 to April 30, 2023.

The Investigation focuses on possible irregularities in hiring Rosa Pierina Rivera Bermeo at the National Commission for Development and Life without Drugs (DEVIDA), after holding meetings with Otárola and the executive president of the entity, Carlos Figueroa Henostroza. Now the telecommunications companies must provide the required information within 48 hours.
