The Judiciary granted six more days to the prosecutor José Domingo Pérez, from the Lava Jato special team, to expand and specify the criminal complaint he filed against Keiko Fujimori and others investigated for the alleged crimes of money laundering, criminal organization and others.
In the hearing that took place this Friday, May 6, the preliminary investigation judge Víctor Zúñiga changed the four-day period that he had initially granted the prosecutor and established May 16 as the deadline.
In this sense, on Tuesday, May 17 at 9 am, José Domingo Pérez must support his corrected accusation in the Cocktail case against the leader of Fuerza Popular, her husband Mark Vito Villanella and others denounced for alleged illicit income received in the presidential campaigns of the 2011 and 2016.
Prosecutor Pérez had indicated that after April 28, the period of four business days was not enough to comply with the corrections in the accusations, facts and other details that the Judiciary had established throughout the accusation control stage. .
After hearing the questions from lawyers such as Christian Salas, from Keiko Fujimori; Gonzalo del Río and Humberto Abanto, Judge Zúñiga Urday granted a period of six days.
After criticism from the legal defense of the accused, the judge assured that this decision will not affect the terms they will have to carry out their work and respond to the allegations made by the Public Ministry.
