The Judiciary authorized its president, Elvia Barrios, to travel to the United States from this Sunday, October 16, until the 21st with the purpose of participating in a service commission.
According to the administrative resolution that was published in the legal regulations bulletin of the official newspaper El Peruano, the purpose of the invitation sent by the United States embassy in Peru is for Barrios to make a high-level visit to exchange experiences in areas of common interest.
The head of this State power will be part of the exchange of experiences with peer authorities on issues of combating corruption and promoting integrity, which will take place in the city of Washington DC
“In her capacity as President of the Judiciary, she will exchange experiences and information, which will contribute to improving and innovating the Peruvian judicial system.; as well as policies against bribery and corruption, which will benefit the justice service”, reads the resolution.
Along with Barrios, the titular judges of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic Janet Ofelia Lourdes Tello Gilardi, Carlos Arias Lazarte and Carlos Calderón Puertas will attend. In addition, Karina Justina Holgado Noa, Senior Judge of the Superior Court of Justice of Cusco, will attend.
Likewise, this legal device bears the signature of the Supreme Judge Héctor Enrique Lama More, due to the abstention of the President of the Judiciary.
