Negotiations begin this Thursday parity with the teaching unions, after the call made by the Ministry of Education and its head, Jaime Perczyk, days ago.
The assembly It will take place at 4:30 p.m. at the Palacio Sarmiento, located at Pizzurno 935 in the City of Buenos Aires. As confirmed, in the parity The five teacher unions at the national level will participate.
The goal of the parity It will be to discuss the floor for the salary discussions of teachers in each province. From the Confederation of Education Workers (CTERA), they announced that They will ask for “a salary increase that exceeds inflation, with permanent review”.
It should be remembered that last year teachers accumulated a salary increase of 114%, which brought the initial salary to $90,338 for this February 2023. In this sense, it is expected that, during the discussions, the accumulated salary will be taken into account. inflation last year, which reached 94.8%
Likewise, the inflationary projections for this year will be analyzed, which, according to the Government, will be 60%. However, according to the estimates of private consultants, the January price index would be more than 5%, which should also be considered in the negotiations.
From the CTERA they also anticipated that, during the meeting, they will request the “modification of the Income Tax” and “continue with the elaboration of the Collective Agreement of the teaching sector”.
For its part, negotiations with the sector in the City of Buenos Aires will begin on February 14.also with the objective that the salary increase exceeds inflation, since, in the last five years, this did not happen, according to the Union of Education Workers (UTE).
Who participates in parities
In the meeting Convened by the Ministry of Education of the Nation, the CTERA, the Argentine Union of Private Teachers (Sadop) and the Union of Argentine Teachers (UDA) will participate.
Also the Association of Technical Teaching Teachers (Amet) and the Confederation of Argentine Educators (CEA). In addition, different authorities and representatives of the ministry will be present.
