Havana, Cuba – once again, as usually happens once a year, took place (in this case, in Tegucigalpa, Capital of Honduras), the Celac Summit meeting (community of Latin American and Caribbean states). On this occasion it was the marked with number IX.
The entity arose in 2010 with the determining impulse of Lieutenant Colonel Hugo Chávez. In that effort, Venezuelan mandamás had from the beginning with the determined support and advice of Fidel Castro. This, in view of the fact that his government (not the country, because Cuba is still considered as part of the OAS) does not participate in the tasks of the aforementioned continental organization, he longed for another group to flourish in which he could participate, but from which he was excluded USA.
And everything indicates that, over the years, the leftist drift of the group has been strengthened. Simply examine, to verify it, the list of Latin American heads of state who attended. In addition to the host Xiomara Castro, the Colombian Gustavo Petro, the Bolivian Luis Arce, the Brazilian, attended the event Lula Da Silva, the Cuban Miguel Díaz-Canel, the Uruguayan Yamandú Orsi, the Mexican Claudia Sheinbaum and the Guatemalan Bernardo Arévalo.
Also present were several prime ministers of parliamentary democracies from Anglo -speaking Caribbean countries: Juan Antonio Briceño, by Belize; Mark Anthony Phillips, from Guyana; and Ralph Gonçalves, from San Vicente and Las Grenadinas. It is, without a doubt, democratic countries; But that, in order to receive the oil drizzles facilitated by the “Bolivarian” Venezuela and a Cuban medical brigadita, they are willing to whatever … (and so much lend to that farce that, before the claims of the United States, until they pretend to ignore that each of the Cuban doctors receives just a fifth of what their country pays to the Castocommunist regime for its services) …
The occasion was conducive to The trip on duty of the brand new president chosen for his predecessor and “leader of the revolution.” Díaz-Canel traveled to Tegucigalpa and, as is his custom, with him it was “La Machi”, his partner, who is not seen as a member of the delegation and also (according to his same husband) is not the first lady, but he acts as such and does not miss a single international trip paid by the public treasury of our hungry island.
In his peroration on Wednesday, Mr. Sin-Casa evoked “the monster” and his guts; He insisted on the Castro -American Castro rhetoric, lashed out at the current Washington administration. He also talked about “taking advantage of the complementarities between the economies of the region” … This man is in charge of the Cuban State, and has not yet learned that the economy of the island ceased to exist! … Do you ignore that Cuba is not in a position to “take advantage of” any type of economic collaboration! …
For his part, the Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro did not travel to Tegucigalpa. Apparently international capture orders freed against your person are intimidating enough to avoid trips that are not to countries that have clearly expressed that they will be ignored. Anyway, faithful to his rhetorical vocation, he reached one more of his pharragoso video recorded speeches.
Arturo McFields Yescas, on the pages of Infobaethe subject addressed on Tuesday with absolute clarity in his article “CELAC: 14 years of lies, failures and populism.” The Nicaraguan colleague, on the eve of the conclave, pointed out The multiple shortcomings of the group that, when it emerged, had the claim to replace the OAS, becoming an analogous regional entity, but without the presence of the United States or Canada; although – yes – with the welcome participation of the Castrocommunista Cuba.
McFields Yescas mentioned the fundamental lacks of the entity: “It does not have a headquarters, an executive secretariat, budget and much less a commitment to democracy and freedom.” Later, the Nicaraguan colleague attended a lunge accurate: “Celac promised to create a unique regional currency, to move to the dollar, put an end to poverty, reach energy integration and generate 100% clean energies.” And summarize the point: “All promises never fulfilled.”
Don Arturo continues to rummage in the group’s deficiencies: “There can be no integration without integrity, there can be no prosperity and well -being without freedom and democracy. For this reason CELAC is and will continue to be a club of populists and dictators condemned to failure and oblivion.” By way of conclusion, he makes an bold approach, which deserves well –
As a sample of the internal contradictions that were revealed at the meeting, the prestigious Honduran newspaper The press He emphasized the repeated disagreements that the president Xiomara Castro, as president, had with the Paraguayan delegation. The representatives of the Guaraní country insistently requested to be granted the floor, since they estimated that, since they disagree with aspects of the so -called “Tegucigalpa Declaration”, there was no consensus about it. In short, the Honduran told them that they could speak “at the time”, … but the latter never arrived …
At the end of the meeting, the aforementioned “Tegucigalpa Declaration” was issued and signed, which contains a detailed inventory of the common places that are so in vogue are within the CELAC. Three countries disagreed (Argentina, Nicaragua and the aforementioned Paraguay). In view of this, to give validity to the brand new document, a novel concept has been used: that of “sufficient consensus.” In short, the new mamotreto holds the signature of the other 30 member countries.
This Saturday, in his Blog Generation andcolleague Yoani Sánchez published a Post of successful title: The Celac Summit: Another lost opportunity. The downer with which this material was published in 14ymedio It seems to me lapidary: “It is the nth situation in which the agency demonstrates its inability” …
To conclude this journalistic work, I think it is appropriate to make an appointment of President Xiomara Castro: “CELAC is not a perfect organization.” To this benevolent and euphemistic statement, although truthful, it only seems necessary to add a brief comment: so imperfect is that it cannot even be considered as an organization!
