The governor of Jujuy and head of the National Committee of the UCR, Gerardo Morales, assured that he did not know “what is the logic” behind the statements made this week by the founder of the Civic Coalition (CC)-ARI, Elisa Carrió, when asserting that the Together for Change (JxC) “no one raised” an agreement with the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.
“No one has proposed an agreement with Sergio Massa in the future. My deputy governor (Carlos Haquim) no longer participates in the Renovating Front. What Elisa Carrió says is not true. We have important Peronist sectors in the Jujuy Front, as happens in Mendoza,” Morales stated in statements made to FM Urbana Play.

In television statements, Carrió assured that “what Gerardo (Morales) knows well, because he has known me for years, is that, if I have to denounce, I denounce”.
“Guys, in the name of national unity I am not doing anything else. The happy national unity is going to be based on decency. There are key people from Together for Change who do business,” said the former national deputy.
The leader of the CC assured that there are referents of JxC that have “a partnership with massism” and, furthermore, that there was an “agreement” between the head of the Renovating Front (FR) and the government of Cambiemos.
“Basically (the former Buenos Aires Security Minister, Cristian) Ritondo, and the one who was Minister of Justice, of business with massismo, Gustavo Ferrari,” Carrió attacked.
“If they want me to leave JxC, they only have to ask me. But I won’t shut up anymore, I prefer to die. They can even disaffiliate me from the CC. Now how are they going to avoid a 35-year-old voice in Argentina,” Carrió said in some of his statements.

Former President Mauricio Macri chose not to comment in public after Carrió’s statements, although he let it be known that he did not share the grievances that the leader expressed towards other coalition figures.
Morales affirmed that he “categorically rejects” these accusations and considered that “the way forward is to unite and consolidate” the opposition coalition.
“Sergio Massa is part of the Frente de Todos (FdT), which is the coalition we are going to face because they are destroying the country,” he emphasized.
Nevertheless, Morales acknowledged that at some point in JxC he considered “expanding the coalition towards Peronism” to add sectors that want to join the opposition.
On the other hand, the governor anticipated that, facing the 2023 elections, there will be an internal competition in the opposition coalition between the applicants from the UCR and those from the PRO, the political force founded by former President Mauricio Macri and headed by former Minister Security Patricia Bullrich.
“I see Macri competing. I think so. If he sees water in the pool, he throws himself in. He has every right to do so. In any case, we (radicalism) are going to have only one candidate. We have to define who is the procedure,” he pointed out.
Meanwhile, UCR sources stated that as part of his proselytizing activities, Morales visits the province of Santa Fe and will return to the province of Buenos Aires with acts in Trenque Lauquen, Azul and Olavarría.
The president makes these visits in his capacity as head of the UCR but also with the aim of touring the country in the framework of his intention to be a candidate in 2023, where he competes internally with the national deputy and neurologist Facundo Manes.
