At 3:30 p.m. this Tuesday, May 2, a meeting to rearticulate the Inter-institutional Committee of Santa Cruz at the facilities of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (UAGRM) with the aim of establishing positions regarding various issues that concern the country, such as the “package” of bills, the transfer of pension funds to the Public Manager, judicial reform, the educational curriculum and the economic crisis.
The rector of the UAGRM, Vicente Cuéllar, who also chairs this committee, reported that all crossroads institutions will participate who were summoned last year to mobilize asking for an immediate Population and Housing Census, as well as representatives of other departments, because the issues to be addressed are of national interest.
In this first call, the objective is to organize the committee and, once the new directive is formed, future meetings will be called to determine action measures on the issues addressed.
Originally, this meeting was to take place on Friday, April 21; however, it was suspended at the request of the Committee for Santa Cruz and the Cruceña Parliamentary Brigade, whose representatives could not be present on that date.
March against the Manager
On the other hand, Cuéllar announced that this Friday, May 5, the university community will once again take to the streets to protest against the Public Manager. The concentration will be at 10:00 in the modules of the UAGRM, from where it will depart towards the main square 24 de Septiembre.
“What we are demanding is transparency in the administration of our resources that the Manager begins to manage as of this month (…) The administration is in the hands of the politicians, since President Luis Arce is the one who appoints the five members of this public company and who it also appoints the person in charge of supervising, that is, it is administered by the Government,” said Cuéllar.
