The institutions of Santa Cruz once again challenge the Government. the protest march against the judicial persecution of the leaders of the 36-day strike by the Census is defined. It will depart today from Busch avenue and second ring, in the surroundings of the campus of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (Uagrm), starting at 5:00 p.m. The mobilization plans to go through the Palace of Justice, where there will be a speech; then by the Prosecutor’s Office and will conclude in front of the Police Departmental Command.
While the march gains support in Santa Cruz, from La Paz the Minister of Government, Eduardo del Castillo, described the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, as “subjects”; the president of the Civic Committee, Rómulo Cuéllar; and the rector of the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (Uagrm), Vicente Cuéllar. He used that word to deny that there is a judicial persecution against the leaders and ruled out the activation of the migratory alert.
“In recent weeks or days the General Directorate of Migration has not received any immigration alert against these subjects. Any assertion that Mr. Camacho is making is totally false. Here no one is chasing him, no one is investigating it. At least, a formal request has not been received from the Police to initiate any type against this subject, this will have to be answered by the Public Ministry within the framework of its powers and functions, “said Del Castillo.
From the Creemos group, an opposition alliance led by the governor of Santa Cruz, they established a position. Senator Centa Rek considered that the department of “Santa Cruz is under attack” of the Government of Luis Arce with the objective of taking political and economic control, which today constitutes a bastion of the fight for democracy and the freedom of Bolivians.
According to Rek, this plan includes several strategic actions, one of which is judicial persecution against the leaders Those who filed this lawsuit (from the census) are being prosecuted with lawsuits that have no basis and criminalize the right to protest,” Rek highlighted.
The vice rector of the UAGRM, Reinerio Vargas, indicated that the three levels of the higher education center will participate in the march. “The mobilization committee of the University met and we determined that we will participate in this denunciation march and that Santa Cruz, Bolivia and the world know that in this country there is political persecution the leaders of a strike and we must claim the right to protest”, he assured.
In La Paz, MAS deputy Vicente Condori asked the courts to set a precedent against the leaders of the 36-day strike. “We want to tell Mr. Camacho that justice and the Public Ministry must prosecute him, here there is no political persecution. There were deaths, abuses, human rights violations, justice must put a strong hand against the leaders of this protest so that these destabilizing efforts do not prosper. That is why Camacho must go to jail, ”he said.
Assemblyman from Creemos Oscar Michel said that the march is due to the fact that “We have an absolutely corrupt justicewhich does not have independence and is manipulated by the Executive”.
He mentioned that today’s march will be the first mobilization to warn the Government and justice operators that we will not admit manipulation or persecution of our leaders”, said the opposition legislator.
In an interview with the ‘Influential’ program of EL DEBER Radio, the second vice president of the Committee for Santa Cruz, Stello Cochamanidis, assured that “the march to repudiate legal and judicial abuse, not only against Santa Cruz leaders, but against all people who were in the roundabouts demonstrating “one peacefully and legally,” said Cochamanidis who He repudiated the servility of the Prosecutor’s Office.
