Seven months after the process scheduled for June 1, 2025, Taddei also reported that the Chamber of Deputies has already been requested to postpone the election and is awaiting a response.
Although there are still judicial suspensions and legal resources that are still in force and for which the INE was ordered to suspend the preparation of the election, he said that they have been respected, but he assumed that despite them the election will restart.
Taddei gave the date of November 20 to resume work and install the Temporary Commission responsible for them, which will be chaired by counselor Norma Irene de la Cruz.
In a press conference after the INE session held this Thursday, Taddei indicated that “activities of a legal nature must be carried out, which are: the defense of all the resources that the Institute has received” and in that sense he reported: “We have already started with the request for the dismissal of all the resources received, that has already been concluded.”
He did not report whether he had already obtained a dismissal from the judges or Collegiate Courts – that is, the cancellation of the process without it being resolved in substance – but he considered it a fact that organizational activities could be restarted next week.
Among the legal actions to come, he said that they will once again go to the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF), a new call will be made to the Council of the Judiciary and “a rapprochement with the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN)”.
Within the framework of the session, the advisor of the Legislative Power and deputy of Morena, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, proposed that a reasonable budget for the judicial election could be 9,000 million pesos, not the 13,205 requested by the INE to the Chamber of Deputies.
Taddei said: “We will be very sensitive to what they propose. And we ask for exactly the same thing, the sensitivity of the Institute’s approach to the cost of the electoral process in this case.”
He saw alternatives to reduce spending, “the collaborative activities that we can develop with local public organizations is another already seen alternative; That is to say, there are several paths that can help us be in the financial health that the electoral process requires, which can never be put at risk.”
He recalled that there are more than 280 activities that have to be carried out in this electoral process.
And finally, he defended that councilors and workers receive an electoral bonus, that is, an extra payment for overload, which had been eradicated while councilor Lorenzo Córdova was president and returned to the INE from 2024.
He assured that it is justified because they work every day without rest when there are elections and also defended that the counselors receive it, because “they are as hardworking as the last of the Mohicans here at the Institute. “We are all employees of this Institute.”
