In order to have sufficient personnel for the electoral processes of 2023 and 2024, the Electoral Professional Service Commission of the National Electoral Institute (INE) approved the call to submit 162 positions in the Local Public Organizations (Oples).
The applications will be from October 15 to 22 and the exams will be applied on December 3; the minimum qualification is 7 for technical positions and 7.5 for executives; 41.3 percent of the places will be exclusively for women.
About to expire, 2.6 million credentials
At the meeting of the Working Group on Technological Processes, it was approved to propose to higher instances of the INE the extension of the validity of voter credentials that expire in December of this year, so that citizens can vote in the elections on June 4 of 2023.
The credentials that would no longer be valid on January 1, 2023 add up to 2,627,066 throughout the country. In the case of Coahuila there are 60 thousand 467, and for the state of Mexico, 342 thousand 441, according to the most recent cut. The extension would be until the day of the election.
non binary people
The same group analyzed whether the data should be included non binary
as a gender identity identifier, and in what way, on the voting card with photo.
The first exposition of the subject indicates that the norms of the Civil Registry establish the inscription as men
either woman
a characteristic that is included in the law of the electoral sphere, that is, the definition nonbinary (NB)
does not exist at that level.
However, it was stated that there are already birth certificates with that classification.
Representatives of political parties said that the issue should be analyzed in depth, and even wondered if the INE would be the body that should elucidate the NB symbology, or send the matter to the National Population Registry, so that it would be that body that determines the characters that eventually need to be used.
