Elías Piña.– The National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) develops a rehabilitation plan for irrigation systems in the municipality El Llano, Elías Piña province, and in different areas of the San Juan province, with the aim of optimizing its operation.
In Elías Piña, the entity executes the rehabilitation of the main channel The plain, whose work begins in the shot located in the Caña River. At this point, the depletion and discharge gates were put into operation, which has allowed to increase the flow and guarantee the water supply for more than 42,000 tasks dedicated to the crop of rice, corn, auyama, gandules and other agricultural items.
The provincial governor, Migdaly de los Santos, He thanked the Executive Director of the Indrhi, Olmedo Caba Romano, for his constant supervision in the irrigation systems and their proximity to the producers. In turn, CABA explained that the intervention in this driving route covered approximately five kilometers from the work, executing within a short term.

For its part, Matthew Achillesagricultural producer of The plainHe stressed that the long -range teams and the technical accompaniment of the INDHI will allow a significant increase in production. “Here everything that is sown is given; we are sure that with this work we will do better,” he said.
Producer Raúl Reyes also valued the process, noting that the indrhi held previous meetings with the irrigators to explain the works to be done, which he considered an example of active listening. He also highlighted the professionalism of the technical team and the joint execution of the work.
In the province San Juanthe indrhi reported that the channel is intervening Guanito As it passes through the Las Yayitas sector, in the Municipal District El Rosary. To do this, there was a backhoe in order to extract sediments and adapt the berma, thus facilitating access to agricultural areas. The current management has also intervened other sections of this important channel, being the most recent intervention in the Los Burros section, of the Sabana Alta Municipal District.
