Santo Domingo.-The Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET) reports that the influence of an air mass with reduced moisture content associated with a high pressure system in the country will continue. As a result, it is expected that during the morning hours a sunny environment with little rain will prevail in the national geography.
INDOMET also reported that, for the afternoon and early evening, the formation of clouds is anticipated due to the northeast wind and the effects of daytime warming. This could generate local downpours and isolated thunderstorms, especially in the eastern plain, the Caribbean coastal coast and the Central mountain range.
The provinces that will be most affected include La Altagracia, La Romana, Hato Mayor, San Pedro de Macorís, Gran Santo Domingo, Pedernales, Elías Piña, San Juan, San Cristóbal, Independencia and Peravia. The population is recommended to pay attention to weather updates and take precautions against possible changes in weather conditions.
Hurricane Kirk and Tropical Storm Leslie
Regarding the hurricane, Kirk Indomet reported that it is located 1,910 km east of the Lesser Antilles, with maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h and moving towards the northwest at 17 km/h. Currently, this weather system does not represent a danger to the country, although we continue to monitor its evolution and future development.
On the other hand, Tropical Depression No. 13 transformed last night into Tropical Storm Leslie, located 830 km southwest of the Cape Verde Islands. Leslie has maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and is moving west at approximately 9 km/h.
Additionally, a low pressure area has been identified in the Gulf of Mexico, which has a 30% probability of development in the next 7 days. The population is recommended to stay informed about possible changes in weather conditions.
