The ICAIC announces the premiere of films and short films on its anniversary


He Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industries (ICAIC) announced this Monday the premiere of several productions as part of the 64th anniversary of its foundation, on March 24.

The program will begin on the 19th with the premiere of the animated film fernanda and the strange case of the message to Figueroaand will culminate on the 25th of this month with the presentation of four new Cuban short films, the institution reported at a press conference reviewed by the agency Latin Press (PL).

The animated film, directed by Mario RivasIt is divided into two times: present and past. Fernanda along with her friends travel to the time of the wars for the independence of Cuba against Spanish colonialism through a great-grandson of Colonel Figueroa who seeks to vindicate her great-grandfather, advancement the director

Among the proposals, the inauguration of two exhibitions of the Cinematheque of Cuba; the first will be a survey of the institution’s endowments, and the second, a selection of posters on Cuban cinema, which will be exhibited at the Chaplin and 23 and 12 theaters in Havana.

The celebrations for the founding of ICAIC will culminate with the presentation at the Chaplin cinema of the Cuban short films Tartesso dunes by Josué García; havanalikeby Giselle Lominchar; The bell, by Eduardo del Llano; and gloves without ringby Karen Sotolongo.
